- The field of gastrointestinal oncology has evolved rapidly in recent years, fueled by advances in our understanding of tumor biology and the emergence of increasingly personalized therapeutic strategies. Innovations in molecular profiling, systemic therapies, surgical approaches, and diagnostic technologies—such as liquid biopsy—are reshaping the management of patients across all stages of disease, from adjuvant and neoadjuvant settings to metastatic care. The gi journal club offers a focused, critical overview of the latest evidence in gastrointestinal oncology, providing a forum to address key clinical questions, review ongoing national and international trials, and highlight the most relevant topics in gastric cancer. Through an international award, the meeting also supports the development of young italian researchers, fostering their engagement with global research trends and innovative approaches.
